Jennifer Demitor is a visual artist and registered architect based out of Kingston, ON. She is originally from Kelowna, BC, where she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at UBC-Okanagan. Subsequently, she travelled across the country to get her Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University in Halifax. After working primarily as an architect, she realized her artistic and architectural practices were intertwined and could inform and enhance each other. Her work uses the built environment to adjust our perceptions of the built and natural worlds and connect us to our surroundings. These architectural installations are often built in situ and either engage with or evolve out of their locales often exploring the lines between architecture and art. She is the owner and principal architect of Fabricae Architecture and Art Ltd. where she explores how to instill more art in the architecture around us.
Inspired by the wholehearted way people connected to their surroundings through her art, Jennifer decided to start Fabricae Architecture and Art Ltd. as a means to create more connective spaces. Fabricae is a boutique architecture firm that offers full architectural services, but specializes in creating unique one-off spaces that have meaning for their clients. If you are looking for that something extra, Fabricae explores areas between art and architecture to create something distinctive for each project.
