EXPERIMENTS IN PAINT. As an architect, paint is often a secondary consideration to something like materiality. Often wood/steel/concrete/tile (the materials) are the focus of the wall/floor treatments. In my world, paint is often just 'cloud white' with our interior designers sometimes adding in feature walls that are colour. But colour can play an important part of creating space. I've been recently looking at how something two dimensional, like paint, affects our perceptions of a space. In this proposal for a mural, RAIN/PLAINS looks at how to create movement and depth through the play of tones and colours.
